A discussion programme on National Library Day followed by Iftar held on 02 June 2018
A discussion programme on National Library Day followed by Iftar held on 02 June 2018 at 5.30pm at Central Public Library, Shahbagh, Dhaka. Mr. A.S.M. Feroz, Chief Whip, Bangladesh Parliament was present as Chief guest on the occasion while Ms. Begum Akhtar Jahan MP, Member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee, Ministry of Finance was present as special guest. The programme started with a welcome speech by Mr. Md. Humayun Kabir, Secretary General of BALID. Dr. Md. Mostafizur Rahman, Head of the Dept. of Library Management & Information Science, Royal University of Dhaka presented a keynote paper on the occasion while Professor Dr. S.M. Zabed Ahmed, Librarian, Dhaka University discussed on the paper. BALID Chairman Dr. Mirza Mohd. Rezaul Islam chaired the session. Around 120 Library professionals took part on the discussion meeting. The programme ended with Iftar Mahfil.

Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Election/Formation of the Executive Council of BALID for 2018-2019 will be held on 01 May 2018. BALID members are kindly requested to participate in the AGM 2018 and your active cooperation is sought to constitute the Executive Council of BALID for 2018-2019.
