স্কুল, কলেজ ও মাদ্রাসার গ্রন্থাগারিক ও সহকারি গ্রন্থাগারিকগনদের শিক্ষক মর্যাদার দাবিতে মানব বন্ধন - ২৮ জানুয়ারি ২০১৭

বাংলাদেশ গ্রন্থাগারিক  ও তথ্যায়নবিদ সমিতি (বেলিড) এর উদ্যোগে এক মানব বন্ধনের আয়োজন করা হয়েছে। গত রবিবার ১ জানুয়ারি ২০১৭, বাংলাদেশ গেজেট (অতিরিক্ত সংখ্যা) এ প্রকাশিত মাধ্যমিক ও উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক শিক্ষা বোর্ড, ঢাকা এর পরিপত্র নম্বর (৯৯১/সংস্থা/২০১৬/১২৫৪(ক), ২২ ডিসেম্বর ২০১৬) এর মাধ্যমে ‘মাধ্যমিক ও উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক স্তরের  শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানের গভর্ণিং বডি ও ম্যানেজিং কমিটি প্রবিধানমালা ২০০৯’  পরিবর্তন পূর্বক ‘স্কুল, কলেজ ও মাদ্রাসার গ্রন্থাগারিক ও সহকারি গ্রন্থাগারিকগন শিক্ষক হিসেবে গণ্য হইবেন না’ আদেশ জারি করা হয়।
 
উপর্যুক্ত পরিপত্রের বিরুদ্ধে নিয়মতান্ত্রিক পদ্ধতিতে প্রতিবাদ এবং তা সংশোধন পূর্বক ‘স্কুল, কলেজ ও মাদ্রাসার গ্রন্থাগারিক ও সহকারি গ্রন্থাগারিকগন শিক্ষক হিসেবে গণ্য হইবেন’ জারি করার জন্য সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্তৃপক্ষের দৃষ্টি  আকর্ষণ ও তা বাস্তবায়ন করার উদ্দেশ্যে উক্ত মানব বন্ধনে সকল গ্রন্থাগার পেশাজীবীদেরকে স্বর্তস্ফূর্তভাবে অংশগ্রহণ করার জন্য বিনীত অনুরোধ করা যাচ্ছে।

Annual Picnic 2017

The Annual Picnic of Bangladesh Association of Librarians, Information Scientists and Documentalists (BALID) will be held on Friday, 3 February 2017 at "Jol O Jongoler Kabbo" at Pilot Bari, Demurpara, Pubail, Joydevpur, Dhaka.

Condolence Meeting and Doa Mahfil at the Sad Demise of Md. Alom Hossain

A  condolence meeting and doa mahfil at the sad demise of Md. Alom Hossain, Joint Secretary General of BALID will be held on 17 December 2016 Saturday at 4 PM after Asr prayer at House 6/1 (4th Floor), Block – A, Lalmatia (Opposite WASA water Tank and office of ABM Mahfuzul Haque, Mamun), Mohammadpur, Dhaka. The Family members of late Mr. Alom Hossain will be present in this condolence and doa mahfil.
 
All are requested fervently to attend the meeting and convey sympathy to the bereaved family and well wishers.

Training on Integrated Library Management System - Koha held at ULAB during 06-08 October 2016

A three day long training program on Integrated Library Management System ‘KOHA’ organized by BALID Institute of Information Management (BIIM), Bangladesh Association of  Librarians, Information Scientists and Documentalists (BALID) in collaboration with University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) from 06-08 October 2016 was successfully completed  at Computer Lab of ULAB Campus-B, Dhanmondi, Dhaka-1209.
 
A Certificate Award Ceremony was arranged in the evening of the concluding day on 08 October 2016. Professor Imran Rahman, Vice Chancellor of the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) was the Chief Guest of the Certificate Award Ceremony of this three day long training program.
 
Among others Professor Md. Kaykobad, Dean, EEE, BUET and Mr. Mofidul Hoque, Member, BoT, Liberation War Museum delivered their valuable speeches as the special guests of the program. Dr. Md. Mirza Md. Rezaul Islam, Librarian, IUT and Training Coordinator of BIIM gave the welcome address while Dr. Sumon Rahman, Coordinator, Library Affairs and Associate Professor, MSJ, ULAB offered the vote of thanks on the occasion. Dr. Md. Mostafizur Rahman, Chairman, BALID & BIIM was the Chairperson of this Certificate Award Ceremony.
 
Mr. Kazi Farhad Noman and Mr A.K.M. Nurul Alam (Apu), the two promising Executive Members of BALID, were the resource persons of the three day’s training program. A total of thirty five library and IT professionals from various renowned organizations and universities took part in the training program.
 
The main purpose of the training program was to enhance operation of library services through library management system ‘KOHA’ with a view to automate libraries in Bangladesh.
 
Distinguished library professionals from various institutions were also present in the certificate award ceremony.

Round Table Discussion on the Role of Library Professionals in Creating Good Citizen and Combating Terrorism held at Jatiya Press Club - 03 September 2016

A Round Table Conference on ‘Role of Library Professionals in Creating Good Citizen and Combating Terrorism’ was organized by Bangladesh Association of Librarians, Information Scientists and Documentalists (BALID) at VIP Lounge of Jatiya Press Club, Topkhana Road, Dhaka on 03 September 2016 Saturday at 3 pm.
 
The conference started with a concept paper presented by the Secretary General of BALID, Mr. Sasanka Kumar Singha. The paper delineated asking guidelines from the respected discussants on how the library professionals in different stages of the society can help to build up a well behaved citizens and how the libraries can provide the proper guiding and counseling to the young community to be good and worthy citizens.
 
The honorable Deputy Speaker of the Parliament and Chairman of the Bangladesh Parliament Library Committee, Advocate Md. Fazle Rabbi Mia was the Chief Guest and Ms Akhtar Jahan MP and Member, Permanent Financial Committee of The Parliamentary Affairs was the Special Guest of the meeting. 
 
With the Chairmanship of Dr. Md. Mostafizur Rahman, Chairman, Bangladesh Association of Librarians, Information Scientists and Documentalists(BALID) the distinguished persons present in the meeting as the discussants were the prominent economist Mr.Kholiquzzaman Ahamad, Chairman, PKSF, Dhaka, Advocate Sultana Kamal, Ex- Adviser, the Care-Taker Government, Professor Dr. Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Bangladesh University of Professionals, Mr. Ashis Kumar Sarker, Director General, Department of Public Libraries, Mr.Mijanur Rahman Khan, Joint Editor, Prothom Alo. A paper written by Mr. Mofidul Islam, Trustee, Liberation War Museum was presented by Mr. M.Monirul Islam, Librarian of Prime Minister’s Office.
 
The Honorable Chief Guest Deputy Speaker Advocate Md. Fazle Rabbi Mia invited all to increase the readers of the thousands of the libraries of the countries and run the libraries inspired with the spirit of the liberation war to fight against the terrorism and militancy. He asked the librarians to play an important role in this regard.
 
He thanked BALID for timely arranging the Round Table Conference on the burning issues of the day.
