Training on Plagiarism and Reference Management Software Zotero held at NSU Library - 19 December 2015

A day long Training on Plagiarism and Reference Management Software Zotero was held at E-resources Access Centre, North South University (NSU) Library, Bashundhara, Dhaka.  on Saturday, December 19, 2015.
 
North South University in collaboration with Bangladesh Association of Librarians, Information Scientists and Documentalists (BALID) was organized this training. Total 40 teachers, researchers and librarians of various government, autonomous and private institutions in the country were participated in this training program.
 
Dr. Md. Mostafizur Rahman, University Librarian of North South University taught plagiarism checking software Turnitin and Minhajuddin Ahmed discussed on plagiarism while Md. Mukhlesur Rahman of Independence University, A K M Nurul Alam, Assistant Director of Bangladesh Bank and Kazi Farhad Noman of Southeast University taught Zotero and Mendely reference software.

Plagiarism means taking the words and thoughts of others and using them as if they were your own, without crediting the author or citing the source either it is willful or unintentional. Whether you meant it or not, you can be found guilty of plagiarism. On the otherhand, Zotero and Mendely are free reference/citation management software which allows you to collect and store references and insert them as citation and bibliography in word processing application like MS Word or LibreOffice.
